British Red Cross have been providing emergency help since 1870, and are part of a global voluntary network. They help people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are, responding to natural disasters, conflicts, transport accidents, evacuations, floods and fires. They train first aiders to cope with emergencies both at work and in the home, and provide first aid at various public events; offer care and transport assistance to the poorly, and provide assistance to refugees and asylum seekers. British Red Cross works worldwide to help make contact between families when conflict or disaster strikes and communication breaks down and families become separated.
