FAQ - CharitiesFree fundraising: No costs to you or your supporters
Froggybank is committed to raise millions of pounds to good causes, just by our members shopping online.
What is froggybank?Froggybank.co.uk is a community of online shoppers in the UK, where our members get paid for the things they buy anyway. Our members can choose to donate their cashback earnings to any charity or cause they choose.
Charities and fundraisers can sign-up to raise money for their cause.
Online Shoppers spend billions a year using various websites. Most websites keep the referral commission they earn from the retailer, but pay 100% of middleman's fee back to our members.
We partner with more than 1500 online retailers, supermarkets, fashion stores and service providers including Currys, Comet, Dixons, M&S, PCWorld, Boots, WHSmith, BT, Tesco and John Lewis.
With internet shopping worth more than £24 billion a year and estimated to reach 25% of all retail sales by 2009, the earning and fundraising potential is enormous. We aim to raise millions for charities like yours, other good causes and our members.
More information on our company can be found at our about us page.
Where is the money coming from? The money comes from the retailers' advertising budget. Online retailers spend billions of pounds a year on advertising. They pay referral fees to websites who refer customers to them. We pay this money to our members, which they can choose to donate to you.
Charity Shopping with a DifferenceUnlike some charity shopping sites, our site has the incentive for members to keep coming back to shop from more than 1500 retailers and donate to your charity. Our members can also keep some of the cash and donate flexibly.
This means charities have more chance of getting ongoing donations. Our company has a proven track record of serving hundreds of thousands of members and sending them cash back payments promptly for 4 years.
How is froggybank financed? To cover some of our operational costs, we deduct the first £5 out of our members' earnings each year as admin fee.
Since our company has multiple revenue streams and income from other websites like price comparison sites, we are able to heavily subsidise the running of froggybank at very low costs.
How will our charity raise money?- Every time a member signs up referred by your charity's unique link or your charity page, or clicks on "support this charity" link in our charity listings, they will be considered as your supporter.
- We will pay your charity £2.50 for each supporter who joins our site, when we deduct their first year's admin fee of £5 from their cashback earnings. This £2.50 is regardless of how much they choose to donate to you. This does not cost your supporter a penny extra.
- Your charity will also show as the default charity in their profile, so they can choose to donate a proportion or all of their cashback earnings to you on an ongoing basis.
Who can sign-up as a Charity? All registered charities in the UK and international charities with operations in the UK can sign-up free. If you are a charity with no UK operations, please contact us through our helpdesk.
Why create your charity page on froggybank? You can create your charity page on our site and promote it. People will not only thank you for introducing them to a new way to earn while they shop, they do not have to spend any money from their pocket to donate to your cause.
When a member signs-up to our site using your page, we pay you £2.50 out of their first year's membership fee of £5. Your cause will also be shown as a default charity in their account which will prompt them to give you regular donations.
It is not only free publicity for your charity, but also a completely free fundraising opportunity.
How do we build our charity page? You can build your own Charity page on our site easily using 'build my page' link after logging in to our site. All you need to do is to write briefly about your charity, why you are raising money etc. You also have the option of including uploading a logo or photo to show on your page.

Once you submit your page, we will review it, make any changes if absolutely needed and approve it. As soon as your page is approved, you will be listed in our charities directory and people joining our site will be able to support you.
How you can promote your charity pageYou can promote your charity page using word of mouth, newsletters, leaflets, notices and links on your website or any other legal means you choose.
Your charity page address will be a memorable one, usually in the format of www.froggybank.co.uk/yourcharity.

Why is froggybank a unique fundraising opportunity?- Your supporters do not have to spend anything from their own pocket.
- Your supporters are more likely to come back and shop repeatedly, as they have the incentive to earn cash for free (and therefore, donate to your cause on an ongoing basis)
- Your cause will get free exposure on our site, so hundreds of thousands of other users can see and consider donating.
- Froggybank is the only 100% cashback site in the UK where you can earn £2.50 for each member you refer and get ongoing donations from your supporters as well.
